The Director General of Veterinary Medicine of Hamadan Province stated on the sidelines of this visit: “The most important goals of veterinary medicine are to control and prevent diseases common between humans and livestock, ensure the health of raw livestock products, and create conditions for sustainable development to enter global markets.”
Amirhossein Naghipour added: The Nahavand cutting and processing unit exported about 380 tons last year, and in the first 6 months of this year alone, more than 500 shipments of aquatic animals were sent abroad.
He pointed out that more than 5.65 million livestock vaccinations have been carried out in the province this year, adding: “During this period, 39 service purchase contracts worth more than 5 billion Tomans have also been registered.”
194% increase in veterinary export licenses from Hamedan
The Director General of Veterinary Medicine of Hamadan Province continued his speech, referring to the supervisory performance of this complex, and said: During the health supervision projects of the Ministry of Health, more than 64,000 visits were made to 2,088 units, as a result of which 44 tons of unusable products were discovered and confiscated and 136 cases were referred to judicial authorities.
He noted: “In the past year, more than 52 million poultry and 68,000 light and heavy livestock have been slaughtered in the province’s slaughterhouses, an increase of 8% compared to the previous year.”
Significant growth in exports of livestock and aquatic products
Referring to the significant growth in the province’s livestock and aquatic product exports, Naqipour said: “This year, 150 export licenses have been issued to various countries, including Iraq, Pakistan, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Canada, Turkey, and Armenia, which represents a 194 percent growth in the number of licenses and a 44 percent growth in the weight of exports.”
He stated that Hamedan is at the forefront with 190 aquaculture units and an annual production capacity of 5,500 tons, especially in Nahavand with 55 active units, which is known as the country’s non-coastal fisheries hub. He added: Nahavand is the only owner of an aquaculture export unit in the province, and since the beginning of the year, the existing unit has exported 500 tons of frozen fish in 26 shipments to countries.
The Director General of Veterinary Medicine of Hamadan Province stated that no specific cases of viral diseases or unusual deaths have been reported in the province’s aquaculture farms this year, adding: “In addition to meeting domestic needs, some of our products have been sent to other provinces and foreign markets.”
5000 tons of frozen fish were exported from Nahavand to Russia and Kyrgyzstan
The provincial director general of veterinary medicine considered Nahavand County to be a leader in aquaculture among non-coastal cities and stated: With more than 60 active fish breeding and reproduction units, this county has the largest share of aquaculture in the province.
The brilliance of Ghezel Protein Gammasiab Company in exports
Ghezel Protein Gamasyab Company, which has been active in the field of research, study, and engineering since 2018 to create a specialized aquatic processing complex, has succeeded in launching this complex in Nahavand County, Hamadan Province since the beginning of 2018.
Gamasyab Protein Cod was founded with the aim of providing its customers with the best quality raw protein products from livestock and, specifically, marine and farmed aquatic animals. In this regard, every effort is made to control the production stages moment by moment and to think about better effectiveness and what is called healthy food in today’s global society, and to win honors for Hamadan province.
Through hard work and dedication, this company has been able to go from zero to one hundred in salmon farming to become an exporter of this product to countries around the world.
During a journalist’s visit to this production unit, the CEO of Ghezel Protein Company, Gamasyab Nahavand, stated: “With the great efforts of its personnel and the support of the authorities, this company has been able to reach the exploitation stages and become one of the country’s leading companies in the field of protein product production.”
Ali Safa Zamanian, expressing his gratitude to all employees and consulting experts who collaborated in the launch and development of this unit, added: “The main goal of this company is to improve the quality of products and expand export markets.”
Referring to the geographical location of Nahavand, the CEO of Ghezel Protein Gamasyab Nahavand said: “This company was established in Nahavand due to its centrality to surrounding cities and proximity to fish farming centers.”
He added: “Our company has a production license of 5,000 tons this year and contracts have been signed with Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. Due to restrictions in the first half of the year, such as power and heat outages, some contracts were postponed, but we are trying to implement all commitments in the second half of the year.”
Zamanian considered the quality of the company’s products exemplary and explained: “Due to the high volume of export contracts, our focus on the domestic market is limited and we have never sacrificed quality for price reduction. The short distance between fish farming and processing has improved the quality of the meat and product packaging.”
He also pointed out the importance of processing fish eggs and producing value-added products, saying: “We are the first company to process fish eggs and offer a final product with a higher quality than fish meat. From the moment the eggs hatch to fattening and packaging, all steps are carried out under the supervision of our company.”
He noted: “Also, with the support of government institutions and the efforts of employees, we have been able to continue production even in difficult conditions and fulfill our mission in developing the country’s protein industry.”
